Our Missions

If you don't know what the North American Mission Board is or the International Mission Board is, I highly recommend looking them up. I wanted to take today to share some of their great stories and work, and why we give to the Annie Armstrong Offering.

Currently NAMB is planting churches and sending missions almost every month in America. This includes the 4,400+ Send Network churches that have been planted overall! How encouraging is that? Our brothers and sisters in Christ are planting and sharing each week, but what's important to remember is it is not just up to them. Just because you may not be a working member of NAMB, you are still called to make disciples of all nations (and states/cities)! We can continue to learn about their movements and be inspired to also go to our neighbors and share the gospel.

NAMB is also currently involved with the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. This offering started way back in 1895 by the Women's Missionary Union, and Annie Armstrong dedicated her life and her funds directly to the missions in America. Now, over $1 million has been donated at Easter time for this mission, and 100% goes directly to the missions. How amazing! Be sure to check out namb.net to see more information about the AAEO (Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and donate as you are able and as God sends you!

The International Mission Board is also tirelessly working on the missions overseas. Even through COVID, they have not backed down the spread of the gospel. Their main offering is given at Christmastime, called the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. This offering is because of the wonderful and effective work Lottie Moon did to serve the gospel in China in 1918 with the Women's Missionary Union. They also provide 100% of what is offered to all missions happening around the world. You can check out how to be involved, take free courses about the Bible and evangelism, and learn about Lottie Moon Christmas Offering on their website at imb.org.

I am so thankful that we have resources like these groups to help us all understand more about evangelism, working for the name of the Lord, and making disciples. And as I said before, it's ALL of our jobs, not just those who have the name tags with these titles on them. We can do this work right next door, at work, in the park, and at home -- especially at home. That is why World in Motion is excited to start community dance and music classes for free while we share the gospel to the unreached or untouched, right here in Oklahoma City. Soon we look forward to going further to all corners of the country and the world, as it says in Revelations 7:9...

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

Join us in praying for these missionaries, the organizations, and those who contribute. Let's pray that God is always shown in their work, that people are opening their hearts to Him, that people want to know Him more.
