Giving Thanks

As Thanksgiving has come and gone, it's important to remember how giving thanks to each other and to the Lord are necessary and amazing within our relationship with Christ! I've typed up so many verses found in the Bible that are about giving thanks for you to share and read and pray on your own or with your family and friends. Remember to not only give thanks alone, but to give thanks in fellowship.

Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
1 Chronicles 16:34: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."
Psalm 28:7: "The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him."
Psalm 107:8-9: "Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things."

A lot of times, we forget to simply Thank God for being our Lord. We like to say thanks quickly for receiving something in our lives that we like, when that is completely missing the principle of being thankful. Have you ever simply said thank you just because you are thankful and not because you've received something? To me, it goes a lot with endurance in your faith and being thankful to Christ even through hardships. We need to first be thankful that he created all things, and sent His only Son for us so that we may escape the grips of hell for eternity. Jesus even said in John 15:18 "If the world hates you, remember they hated me first." Hardships will happen, but ALWAYS be thankful first.

What are you most thankful for this holiday season? I'm thankful for my family, the opportunity to do World in Motion and bless others in other parts of the world as well as right here, and for the Lord's guidance through my job and life.
